A contemporary interpretation of the ancient Greek symbol for medical care, the Staff of Asclepius, which is used by many medical organisations throughout the world. The snake twines round a rod within an ovoid form, itself symbolic of new birth and growth. The stainless steel sculpture rests on a circular polished stainless steel base. The sculpture stands outside the entrance to the new Centre for Medicine, Leicester.
